Hey! Don't be an airhead...be AirWise!

Did you know that you take 29,000 breaths every day?

Did you know that for a kid with asthma, every breath can be like sucking wind through a straw?

When every breath is a struggle, you really learn to appreciate clean air. Air pollution can trigger asthma attacks, which involve wheezing, coughing and difficulty breathing due to swelling of the air passages to the lungs.

More than 4.8 million of the 14.6 million Americans that have asthma are kids under the age of 18.

Clean air is important! We all need to work toward keeping our air clean. You can make a difference by learning more about environmental issues and becoming an air quality advocate.

What is an advocate?

Air quality advocates support legislation related to clean air and lung health through phone calls, correspondence and personal visits to lawmakers and government officials.
